Consultation & Supervision

Psychology Practicum and Postdoctoral Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Accepting applications for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral psychology graduate students who are interested in working with individuals who are self-harming, suicidal, or otherwise struggling with patterns of emotion dysregulation and self-destructive behaviors. Students will have an opportunity to shadow and observe DBT skills training groups, co-lead DBT skills training groups, and see individual therapy clients using CBT and/or DBT. Students will receive specialized training and supervision in risk assessment, risk intervention, DBT, including opportunities for learning DBT with Prolonged Exposure, which is the only research-supported therapy for treating individuals with symptoms of borderline personality disorder and PTSD. Opportunities are also available for students to collaborate on research studies that investigate clinical features of emotion dysregulation, borderline personality disorder, suicide and self-harm, and treatment outcomes in DBT.

I have intensive training and expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and can provide consultation in DBT for licensed mental health care providers and DBT teams who are seeking support with troubleshooting questions and challenges that arise in providing this treatment. I can also provide consultation to clinicians who need support with implementing systems for assessing and intervening with risk for suicide and self-harm in their practices, whether they are providing DBT or other forms of treatment.
